Rajasthan Heritage Week, an event by the Khadi Board and the Rajasthan government, in association with Prasad Bidapa Associates took place in the heart of Pink city, Jaipur. The three day fashion week witnessed collections from fashion industry’s veteran designers like Ritu Kumar, Abraham & Thakore, Bibi Russell,etc along with national award winning weavers & artisans. Country’s top models like Lakshmi Rana, Rachel Bayros, Sapna Kumar, Sucheta Sharma, Deepti Gujral & Nayanika Chaterjee to name a few, showcasing the beautiful creations at the fashion extravaganza. Fashion guru Prasad Bidapa also the creative director of the project artistically put together the entire show with creative styling, beautiful music & grand backdrops.
So here are the highlights for day 1 at Rajasthan Heritage Week.

1.Bibi Rusell– Bangaladeshi fashion designer Bibi Rusell showcased her ready-to-wear collection included kota doria sarees,kurtis & skirts for women and also created ensembles for men using Pattu Shawl from Barmer,Rajasthan. Models were dressed from head to toe in Rajasthani accessories included turbans,Kitsch Bindis & earrings made from desi bangles.
2. Kaaryah- The colorful & vibrant collection included gypsy details,bohemian fringes along with Rajasthani Lehariya. Collection also included semi-formal pieces like high waisted trouser and Khadi pencil skirt.
3.Ajai Vir Singh-Sri Lanka based designer Ajai Vir Singh’s brand ‘Conscience‘ showcased ready to wear,casual line for men. Pieces included khadi shirts paired with skinny trousers along with long kurtas. Dapper show started with iconic song ‘no women no cry’.
4. Jason & Anshu- Smallshop by Jason and Anshu presented a line of ready to wear for men & women. The whimsical collection included pieces like dhoti trousers,zippered jackets & shift dresses. Love the painterly shoes.
5. Pallavi Jaipur- Finale Designer for day 1 was Jaipur based Pallavi Murdia, who presented Ethnic wear with a modern twist. Embroidery work included the bling crafts of Rajasthan such as gotta patti,aari tari,dabka & zardozi.
